Cadres and leaders affiliated to the Federal Alliance have picketed the Singh Durbar today as well, disrupting traffic movement in different parts of the capital.

The protesters chanted slogans against the government and constitution, which they claim has failed to address demands of the Madhesi community.

The protest was launched on Sunday, with cadres and leaders staging sit-ins at different places in front of Singha Durbar including Hanumanthan and Maitigharmandal.

The Madhesi parties’ protest was staged as per its previous announcement to launch capital-centric protest demanding that the constitution be rewritten to address the concerns of the minority communities including the Madhesi population.

Leaders of the Alliance including Upendra Yadav, Rajendra Mahato, Mahendra Yadav, Sarvendra Shukla, Raj Kishor Yadav, Ashok Rai, Parshuram Tamang, Kumar Lingden, Kumar Rai, Brishesh Chandra Lal, and Govinda Chaudhary were present on Sunday’s protest.
